Below is a list of our most frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions, please contact us at bannergh@bannergreenhouses.com and we would be happy to help.
How quickly can I get my plants?
We custom grow for customer orders and generally won’t have plugs available for last minute needs. Lead time for most genus is 10 weeks. This allows us time to source and receive seeds, sow, and grow your plants.
Current Availability is updated weekly and sold as a 1st come 1st served basis. Current Availability orders are ready to plant and must ship within 4-7 days.
How do the plants get to me?
You decide how you get your plants! Please refer to the Shipping & Delivery page for different options.
What tray sizes do you offer?
We offer 72, 128, and 288 count tray sizes for our vegetable, herb, and flower plugs. 288s are not recommended for direct to field transplanting and are not offered in every variety.
Grafted tomato transplants – 72 cell trays
Strawberry transplants – 50 cell trays
Hemp transplants – 50 cell trays
How/ when do I pay?
We require 50% up front when your order is confirmed. Please understand that this does not include shipping costs. The remainder of your order will be paid when it is shipped and will include the final costs (any shipping and boxing costs) for the order. If you prefer to pay for shipping at the time of ordering, please indicate your preference to the Customer Service Representative.
Do you guarantee 100% germination?
No, as no seed germinates at 100%, our trays are not sold as full count trays. Generally, you can plan on 90% of tray count when planning your needs.
72s: sold at 62 plugs per tray
128s: sold at 109 plugs per tray
288s: sold at 245 plugs per tray
Grafted Tomato 72s: sold at 70 plugs per tray
If a variety has less than 90% germination and buffer tray(s) are not available to meet the 90% threshold, the price will be adjusted accordingly.
Is everything offered Certified Organic?
All of our Vegetable offerings, Herbs, Grafted Tomatoes and Strawberries are certified organic. Several flowering varieties are conventionally grown and are not available as Certified Organic.
CCOF is the certifying agent responsible for enforcement of USDA standards. If you need a copy of our most recent certification, please ask our customer service representative. Only current customers can obtain a copy for their records.
Do I have to provide the seed? Will you grow seed that I provide?
No, we source all seeds. Because we are certified organic, we are required to maintain strict records and follow a specific protocol for purchasing seeds. To provide our customers with optimum plant quality, tray counts and on time delivery, we purchase only premium quality seed from reliable, respected suppliers.
Once my order is confirmed, am I able to make any changes?
Possibly. We will do our best to accommodate changes. We will be happy to discuss options if your needs change. However, once seed is received and released for sowing, deletions may not be possible. Please contact us to discuss.
Can I request a variety not listed in the product catalogue?
Yes! please provide us with the variety name that you’re looking for and we will be happy to add it to our trials. Determining factors are; 1) availability of quality certified organic or untreated seed from a reputable seed source. 2) prior performance history of this variety.
Do you recommend varieties?
Because each farmer has unique land, climate, practices, market, management style, and taste, Banner Greenhouses cannot make specific variety suggestions or recommendations. We leave it to the grower to decide which varieties will best suit their needs. We will gladly offer information about our best-selling, highest demand varieties that have consistent positive feedback from our current and prior customers.
